Physically, these models take account of the digital nature of the input. Mathematically , they are iterated function systems. As a consequence of making explicit assumptions about the role of discreteness in the models, it is possible to make general statements about the behaviour of these channels without needing to assume that they are linear. We provide the mathematical background necessary to understand the behaviour of these models and prove a number of results about their observabil-ity. We also provide a number of examples intended to demonstrate their connection with linear state-space models, and to suggest how the nonlinear theory might be developed towards applications.

Chaotic property for non-autonomous iterated function system
In this paper, the new concept of non-autonomous iterated function system is introduced and also shown that non-autonomous iterated function system IFS(f_(1,∞)^0,f_(1,∞)^1) is topologically transitive for the metric space of X whenever the system has average shadowing property and its minimal points on X are dense. Moreover, such a system is topologically transitive, whenever, there is a point ...
متن کاملFinite-dimensional Behaviour and Observability in a Randomly Forced Pde
In earlier work [5], aimed at developing an approach to signal processing that can be applied as well to nonlinear systems as linear ones, we produced mathematical models of digital communications channels that took the form of iterated function systems (IFS). For finite-dimensional systems these models have observability properties indicating they could be used for signal processing applicatio...
متن کاملIterated Function System Models in Data Analysis: Detection and Separation ; CU-CS-1087-11
We investigate the use of iterated function system (IFS) models for data analysis. An IFS is a discrete dynamical system in which each time step corresponds to the application of one of a finite collection of maps. The maps, which represent distinct dynamical regimes, may act in some predetermined sequence or may be applied in random order. An algorithm is developed to detect the sequence of re...
متن کاملRotation number and its properties for iterated function and non-autonomous systems
The main purpose of this paper is to introduce the rotation number for non-autonomous and iterated function systems. First, we define iterated function systems and the lift of these types of systems on the unit circle. In the following, we define the rotation number and investigate the conditions of existence and uniqueness of this number for our systems. Then, the notions rotational entropy an...
متن کاملWeak $F$-contractions and some fixed point results
In this paper we define weak $F$-contractions on a metric space into itself by extending $F$-contractions introduced by D. Wardowski (2012) and provide some fixed point results in complete metric spaces and in partially ordered complete generalized metric spaces. Some relationships between weak $F$-contractions and $Fi$-contractions are highlighted. We also give some application...
